Who We Are
Douglas G. Rockne
Landscape Architect
Principal, Rockne Corty Design, Inc.
Doug Rockne is a licensed landscape architect and has practiced in Colorado since 1972 when he embarked on a mission to be the best and to do the best site and landscape design work in the Denver metropolitan area. He has been principal of his own firm since 1978 with a primary focus in the south metropolitan area. His 36-year career includes hundreds of projects; private residences, churches, subdivisions, commercial enterprises and parks, with a primary emphasis on public park design. He is a hands-on professional, the primary contact with his clients, never designing in a vacuum or passing off design to other employees. He is integrally involved in the project from master planning through final acceptance offering the consistency and dependability needed for public projects in particular. Unlike most landscape architects, Doug is an expert in irrigation design and water management, both of which are critical components in landscape design.
Doug has lived in Arapahoe County most of his career and has always been involved in the community. He has volunteered his expertise and talent serving on the South Suburban Gold Medal 20/20 Committee (Chair), the City of Centennial's Comprehensive Plan Task Force, and was advisor to City of Centennial Parks, Open Space, Trails and Recreation Master Plan. Public outreach, soliciting and incorporating community input have always been a priority in his master planning efforts for park design.
